A park design and model made for a block in Toronto.

For this park design, it has been designed around the concept of unity and connection. Although we all have our own individuality, we are still all connected as human beings. I tried to represent this by creating 3 total semi - closed off areas that represent individuality to create a “separate” area from the others. This is represented by the elevation changes in the ground and hills accompanying them. In the center, there is a water feature that is surrounded by 4 hills that again help separate the area from the rest. However, these places are all connected through an elevated circular bridge type structure that surrounds the central area, resting on the 4 hills. When on this bridge, you can look over all 3 areas of the park, thus “connecting” everyone together while the areas are still separated. The trees were scattered around in a way that would not over clutter the park, helping create a semipermeable appearance from the exterior of the park, inviting more people to come inside and look around. Additionally, the 2 larger hills on the North and South sides also slightly represent a yin yang symbol when looked at from above. Overall, the park is designed through the concept of individuality, connection and unity and is represented through these various design choices that help convey the feeling one achieves when walking through the park.
